as a float to the Indian border the Brazos & the Trinity. He has a family: and as Bexar & Gonzales, two of his counties formed parts of the proposed third district, why not leave him a foothold in his orig- inal circuit by calling that the fourth? Then the judge of the third district would still have had some three of his original counties. But this dissolution of districts could easily have been avoided by adrling some county eastward to the fourth, and some other county or counties still eastward to the third district. Such would have been the natural course. For some motive or consideration that has not transpired and may never be disclosed, dissolution and disorganization was prcfered: and whether intended or not the result is to remove the judge from his district into another, separated from his own by a line of counties extending from the northern boundary to the coast. He complains of this. He has chosen the climate of the West, deeming it essential for the health of himself & family. He considers the change to him- apart from the increase of district as a consequence of the abolition of the seventh-as greatly detrimental to him on the score of toil, expense & exposure: and he claims the constitutional right of having his district, being that on ·the extreme west_. who]]y retained to him- He has become accustomed to its officers and people; and he has heard of no complaint against him from them.
