DEAR GENEHAL Enclosed I send you :Morton's receipt drawn by Shipman for Eighty -dollars I informed him shortly after you left that the money was ready for him;- having been disappointed in my visit to Richmond. On the 9th Inst I called on Col Love for One Hundred dollars on _your a/c he informed me that he had no funds, though he would en- <leavour to borrow it, he succeeded in borrowing of :McK, Williams & Co. the amount, When iny brother went up about 3 weeks since I -should have sent the money to Morton if I r,ould have got it of Col Love, but he informed me at that time he had no money in the house .and being confined from indisposition was unable to obtain it. I now hold subject to your order Twenty dollars be pleased to inform me whether to remit pr mail or pay it over to some person-in this place .as I expect to leave here in about three weeks from this time. Should I not hear from you before my departure: I will leave it with A M .Jackson Esqr Gah,eston is quite healthy thus far and I hope will continue so. \fe have nothing interesting here,- now the Election is o\'er and I pre- sume you have heard the result.
