Dn Sm. Permit me to introduce t.o your acquaintance, Col. H. S. Kenney, who Visits Austin for the purpose of exhonerating himself from some charges which have been made derogatory io his character as a gen- tleman and a good citizen,- "From information communicated to me by some of our most respectable citizens in whom I have confidence-- and who have known Col. K since his residence in the west-who have spent some time and transacted business with him and seem well in- formed of the nature and extent of his transactions- I believe the charges above referred to, to be groundless- and the result of a sys- tem of persecution, against him, I therefore take pleasure in recom- mending him to your favourable consideration- with confidence- that you will do him that justice which I believe he merits, by excul- pating him from false charges-I am most Respectfully Yr obt. & Very humble servant A.
