I hope you will pardon this tardy acknowledgement of the high honour you have done me by intrusting the Interest of the Republic to my charge. Iu this Judicial district. I am fully aware of, and thank you heartily for the Compliment your Excelency has pleased to pay me, by the Confidence you have Shown in my humble talents, and Integrity, and I hope by close attention to my official duties, and con- tinued application to my professional Studies to approve myself to the world, and to your Excelency as not Entirely unworthy of the trust Reposed in me.
