I returned from Richmond to this place on Thursday last- I called upon the gentlemen to whom you directed me, and enclose to you their replies to your communications- I called also upon Mrs Long who was well and·desired to be remembered to you- The Government Bonds for which I came down are not yet arrived from New Orleans, Mr Jackson expects them daily- I have there- fore deemed it best to remain a few days in hopes of their arrival, as should I return to Austin it would be necessary that some person should be immediately sent clown again for them- I recd a letter from )fr Jewett a few days since requesting me to have the plastering of your house measured, this I will attend to before my return- Trusting that your health is entirely restored, I have the honor to be Your Obliged & obt Servant JOS.
