llY DEAR Srn
Since I wrote relative to l\Ir Tarr as a fit person for Consul of this City-I am well satisfied Mr Allen combines more advantages for this place. He is a business man & mixed up with the trading world and has a good character-I should prefer him to l\fr Tarr-on this account. Dr Breckenridge is doing Texas a great service by his lectures and there is now great astir in the City favorable to Texas. I will write you in full on all matters relative to emigration &c before I leave the City. I am called on daily in large numbers all anxious to Know something of Texas- The Climate & soil of our Country is commanding great attention. I receive letters from all parts of the U. Stes on this subject I am truly yours R. G. DUNLA.P
