HON SIR I am informed that you (as a nation) have taken your seat among the nations of the earth. Having achieved your independence through blood and treasure and now blessed with free government the greatest boon which man can possess, and believing that troubles are pretty well over in your country. I huve come to the conclusion to emigrate to your country, and having been informed that you bold out to those who wish to emigrate certain inducements for that purpose. Now Sir I am not acquainted with the facts and anxious to remove to your country; and not knowing any person who can give me the requisite information on the subject. I take this method of obtaining the information. I am informed that those who emigrate will be intitled to a certain quantity of Land. If so your Excellency will be so good as to communicate the facts to me in a letter; by Col. J ohnstonc the bearrer of this communication. I ha\'e a large family of Children & serYants to bring with me; and If I come it will be at great expence, and unless there were something held .out I am not disposed to risk it- I am also a taylor and perhaps as good as any in the uniteu States or any where else.
