Hon!. Shelby Corzine Judge of the 1st Judicial District is dead. Great excitement prevails on the subject of who is to be his surcessor I am bound to presump that your acquaintance with the bar of the 1st district is limited. San Augusti11e is divided upon the subject of a Successor- Cullen Anderson and Hyde have each their friends who will urge their claims to the consideration of the Executive Amlerson will not accept. Cullen and Hyde are both anxious to receive the ap- pointment. James G. Hyde has my conficlence and the confidence gen- erally of the bar and connmity.
