No vessels lost some few f.'mall craft storn for want of care- The harbour is full of Yessels and if things are to be judged of by appearances buisness onght to be very good here. I was on board of the new York & find her one of the best Vessels I have eYer seen. She is an acquisition to our waters- T must beg to Remind you of Pi:entiss. I forgot to name it to You befor I left. I wish you would offer him some ap- pointment. I do not Know that he would take an appointment now as I believe he is interested in a Steam Boat, but having told him that You were disposed to give him au appointment. I should be glad that You would tender him an appointment Whether he Heceves it or not but Just do as you pleas (that you will do anyhow I know) I shall be satisfiecl for I know you will do what you deem best for our countr_y & our Common interest.
