She is at liberty to make her own selection as to the family in which she prefers to reside. I have requested her to do so. 'l'he choice will be made some time this winter. perhaps it will be Colqllitts. The interest upou tlw money I obtained for the office will be sufficient not only to enable me to carry out my views in regard to myself (whatever they may be) but will be sufficient also to•enable me to place her in a comfortable situation. This, to- gether with the hope I entertain & the determination I have formed of doing something for the Boys in the way of giving them an edu- cation & paving the way to their entrance upon the theatre of the world, is, & has been for some time Past., the greatest desire I have had, & I cannot but express my gratitude to you for having placed in my hands the means. by which so desirable an object may be accom- plished I trust your duties may not he such as to prevent you from writing me frequently.
