Au Ordina11ce and Decreefor the Relief o.f Bario/em~ Pajes. Be it ordained and decreed, and it is hereby erdained a11d decreed, That the Governor be required, and it is hereby made his duty to draw upon the Commissioners of 'rexas to the United States of the North, or either of them, for the sum of eight hundred and sixty-seven dollars, the amount awarded by the General Council of the Government aforesaid, to thll said Bartolome Pajes, for fifty-one horses or riding animals pressed for the public service by Captain P. Dimitt, com- mandant of the garrison of Goliad; and that the same be pairl out of the first monies received for the account of Texas in the city of New Orleans; and that the said Commissioners be instructed to take a receipt for the amount paid, which shall be their voucher in the settlement of their public accounts: provided, that the sum so received by the said Pajes, shall be no bar to any future claim for a balance upon the value of the said horses or animals which he can establish as his just due.
