Immediately upon receiving the inclosed petition, I sent for the adjutant and all the sergeants of the different companys to explain the meaning of their desire for your removal and find that the principal one is your slinLing them in their daily allowance that none get full ration. I explained to them the scarcity of coffee and some other articles of which they in no [incomplete] [James Morgan] [To Robert Wilson] [4278] [AUSTIN to WALLACE] I certify that J. E. W. Wallace entered the service at Gonzales and that he was at that place when I arrived there on the 10th of October 1835 and he continued in service in the volunteer army before Bexar untill the 18th of Novr. when he left on furlow.
