An Ordinance and Decree to raise a Regular Army. Be it ordained and decreed, and it is herebJ/ ordained a11d decreed by the General Council of the Prov·isimial Government of Texas, That there shall be, and there is hereby created a Regular .Armv, to consist of one thousand one hundred and twenty men, ·who shall be enlisted for two years or during the War: that the snid Army shall contain one Regiment of Artillery nnd one Hegiment of Infantry-each Regiment two Rnttalions, ench Battallion five CClmpanies, each company fifty-six men rank and file: that there shall be in the Regi- ment of Artillery, one Colonel, two Lieutenant Colonels, two 1\fnjor~; and in each Company, one Captain, one First-Lieu- tenant, one Second-J,ieutenant, and one Third-Lieutenant, ~nd four Sergeants 1m<l four Corporals. '!'hat ther~ shall be m the Regiment of Infantry, one Colonel, one Lie1~tenant Colonel, one Major; and in each Company, one Captam, one First Lieutenant and one Second Lieutenant, and four Ser- geants and four Corporals.
