hereby ordained and decreed by the authority aforesaid, That it shall he the duty of the Governor to cause all the de- crees and ordinances passed by the Provisional Government, to be published in one or more public newspapers in Texas, to he designated by himself, which he shall previously contract to have done, with the proprietor upon the lowest and best terms, and when so contracted with, the said proprietor or publisher shall be called - The publishe1' of the Laws of Texas. Be it ordained ancl decreed by the General Council of all Texas, That the Oath of Office pre.scribed by the Organic Law, creating and establishing a Provisional Government in Texas, may be administered by any Judicial or Executive Officer under this Government, or by the President or Secretary of the Oencral Council, or by any Field Officer of the Regular Army of Texa!!; and that a duplicate copy of the Oath, when llO administered, shall be forwarded to the Governor, and be filed among the Archives of the Executive Office.
