[Executive] Depart. Velasco 1 Oct. 1836

Col. James Morgan Comd. Sir I have sent you the duplicates you wanted-but marvel somewhat that a man of your habitual carefulness should require them. I sometime ago told Luke Moore a very trustwory citizen that he could be employed at the west end of the island in the courrier line. He has been there sometime and as Mr. Clopper is about to leave it will necessary to add to that station. Mr. Moore I wish retained as long as he may be wanted and prefer remaining. I have put off writing my message so long and have been subject to many interruptions, that I have been pushed to the girth and I fear have got up but a poor affair. It was begun this week and finishcd.-copying and all yesterday. j I should be glad to see you at Columbia, but do not want you to i loose time. in great haste f Your obt St. / David G. Burnet I
