Neither Timon nor Odin knew at the time they parted in San Augustine that the over-all interests of the Faith had induced Rome to appoint Odin Bishop of Claudiopolis in partibus n1,ftdelium and Co- adjutor Bishop of Detroit late in December, 1840. Barely had the zealous follower of 'the Fisherman of Galilee cast his nets hopefully in the troubled sea of disbelief in Texas before he was called to work in a distant area. It looked as if the inadequate and overworked crew in Texas was to be left without the guiding hand of Odin.
