With the resumption of his duties as governor of Texas by Manuel Salcedo, the restoration to the conditions existing at the time of the Casas revolution was complete-the former Governor had been restored to office, and the authority of the King had been fully reestablished. Guerra, vol. I, pt. 1 1 A. G. N. The date of taking over the government of Texas by Manuel Salcedo is given as December 1 9, but this is evidently due to an error of the typist in copying the original manuscript. In the handwriting characteristic of this period the "s" is almost identical with the numeral "9." Cf. Garrett, Green Flag Over T ezas, 77.
