I thought proper to Sctch down a Short Sctrh of my history through life my nativ State or birth Birth[sic] place was Buncomb County North Carolina my father emigrted to tennessce I was Raised in that State and Alabama I maried in madison County alabama in 17th. year my [ si,c l was raised in South Carolina in l 816 I removed to the State of Mosorie I resided in that Country a bout 7 years from there I removed to the westren district of tennessee, I Resided in that Country 7 years and from thare to this Country you have a anide [sic] of my history in texas I have a large famly Con- nexion and as you intend publishing past events it will be red I ha\r: no doubt with much interest in after times by my friends and as you are Collecting matter for the perpos [si,c·j, I will Give you Some Ide of my Military Correar also the first Comision I ever wore was that of Capt in howard County Mosorie, the Second was that of Comdt Coln of 1st. Regment of Malitia in Saline County of the Same State third Lieut Col in- Hardeman County tennessee, 4th, Col. Comdt of the Same Regment, the Ballance of my Millitary Correar has bin in this Country which you are acquainted with I hope you will not take this as hos[ ?]ting by any means
