in complyence with your Request I take a gradeel of plesure to make a fue statements in Relation to my county in Relation person [sic] and other emigration to the Republic or about the time John Bevil the first setter in the county of Jasper emigrated in 1824 or there abouts native of the state of gorgea Martin Parmes an old vetren from Mouseri Native of Virginia has [been] calibused by the mexiean and his prop[erty has been conffiss- cated and left with one dollar [ ] by the name of the Riv[er?) Bevil & Parmer was members of the perma- nent counsell and Ring tole a member of the convention and a signer of the decleration of lndependenc of the Republic Stephen H. Eviritt emigrated to texas in 1834 was a signer of the decliration of Inde- pendenc and in the convention and a signer of the constitution a sen- ator for six years and is at this time a very Ric[h] Merchant worth a bout fifty th[ousand] dollars Geo W Smyth a citezon of th[is] county his imegration not Reckolected who was Land commissioner under the mexican Govt a member of the convention and signr of the consitution commissioner to Run the Boundrey line between Texas and the U. S. a gentleman of entegrety and of the first order of [sic] Talnce [talents?] the country presents a verity of scenery Pinenes [pines?] in sum portions fine corm Land fin water and navigation to ·the Gulf of Mexico products cotten corn wheet Ry oats and Tobac[co] seat Town of Jasper [ J th[e county?}
