The Alcalde of this jurisdiction will give notice to the venders of liquors in this place, that from and after this date - no sales at wholesale or retail of 'vinous or spirituous liquors will be permitted, under the pain of confiscation of all their stock on hand, as well as such other punishment as the Commanding Officer shall decree-

Your communications of l\Jay 2ncl were not received until yesterdav. I hasten to transmit the order for your leave of absence to which the General cheerfully assents. It is quite impossible for the ·General to determine at this time whether Laredo will be permanently kept up or how long.
