The women when arrived at Bexar were imprisoned, drilled like soldiers, whipped and made to grind corn for the army; and at night were divided off among the officers f [or] pollution. The officer under whose charge they we[re p]laced, was a Moor. He was a most dis- gustin[g au]dacious mon[ster ]. In a state of nudity [he would] exhibit himself before the women, and invite them to a comparison between himself and the whites, or Americans. The fate of this demon is unknown. Among the women, was a young lady, whom no severity could reduce to their brutality. Every cruelty and torture were re- sorted to, but without effect; and she was hailed as the heroine of the Revolution. She still lives in Bexar (1845) Her name is --. There were 80 or 90 women taken on the Trinity. The [sic] with many more, indeed nearly all who had remained at Bexar were treated as abo_ve stated- Some few families escaped; among whom was Navarro's. [Endorsed] Elisondo his cruelties death &c-

Nathaniel Lynch emigrated to Texas in 1822-from Missouri~ Located his Head right Land at the place now known as Lynchburg- settled there on his first arrival in the country, and remained until 1836, when he died- His widow afterwards married Martin Harden, She still resides at Lyn[ch]burg 1845- Anson Taylor, lived at Anahuac-Roach married his daughter- Taylor located the place called Round Point-Edward, and James were his sons-they were mere boys when they went to Sanantonio, to join the army; they both fell with Travis in the Alamo. James Spillman, one of the old 300-located t[he] Island now known by his name.- He ran [in?] a vessel- and about 1830 settled the Island- Died I think in 1840-or 41- · Doctor Hunter settled at Morgan's place in 1822, about six months befor Lynch settled at his place- Wm. Scott, from Kentucky, settled in 182[ ] Died in 1836- John Hines. settled Ceadar point- He s[u]rveyed Lynche's tract for him, -after Lynch got his order for survey-this was in 1825· or near that time. Nicholas Brunson-came 1824-settled below New Washington- still resides there- Allen and Wm. Vince, came in 1822, settle[d at?] Harrisburgh, at the place known by their names- John D. Taylor, was on the Bay, at Scott's place, when Lynch came
