To William Byrne, Esq., Sir-
I take pleasure in forwarding, at the instance of George W. Brown, Esq., your appointment as District Attorney pro tenpore, for the second ju~icial district, as the absence of the Attorney General prevents your receiving it in a regular form. Washington, Texas, 8th March, 1844. To Messrs. E. J. Arnold, James McCown, Aaron Shannon, William H. Fowler, A. Harper and P. J. 'Willis, Montgomery: Gentlemen,- It will afford me pleasure to meet my fellow citizens at the town of Montgomery on the 14th instant, and commune with them on subjects touching our interests so far as may be compatible with propriety.
