again. I am happy that you approve the "talk" I sent to the India_ns on Red River. The friendly direction that you intend giving it, I am satisfied will be of great advantage. I positively intend to send a commissioner to the Cherokee Council in May, when I will take much pleasure in communicating with you. In the meantime, if you can, ·write to me, I will be extremely obliged. On your return to Arkansas, please present my grateful acknowledgments to my old friends; and to the Indians say that my heart is still warm towards them.
