Captain Peter Tumlinson Sir, You are hereby authorized to raise immediately a com- pany of forty privates, one Lieutenant, three sergeants and three corporals for the frontier service of the State. So soon as the ccmpany is organized you will transmit the certificates of election · of the officers from the Chief Justice of the County, together with the muster rolls of the Company. Should it be inconvenient to obtain supplies by regular contract, you will have to provide for the men, returning vouchers to this Department as best you may, always keeping an eye to the strictest economy and the greatest protection of the frontier. Should any member of your command be guilty of insubordination or conduct unbecoming a soldier, · you will at once dismiss him without honorable discharge. Sam Houston
