I hope that you have had a very satisfactory interview with Doctor Jones, Secretary of State, relative to the consistent policy of this Government Sam Houston Captain Charles Elliot. $1,200 Major A. Brigham, Treasurer, will please to pay to the Hon. Sec'y of War & Marine one thousand, Two hundred Dollars out of the reserved portion of the appropriation for frontier protec- tion. One thousand for the use of the command of Colonel Jack C. Hays, and Two Hundred, on his individual account; and this shall be your voucher for the same.
