I am greatly pressed with the business of office, and cares of station. I send this note by Mr. Reid a young Kentuckian & a Gentle- man- You will please to treat him as such. He is anxious to see the Red lands and Judge of that section of Texas. You will please present him to our friend, and make him "appy." I wish you to write to me, and tell me how matters move on, and how the Peerless Miss Anna, is & does! I have written to her so often, that I fear she has found me trouble- some, and if such is the case, I pray you to make my apology and at the same time, salute her, and her parents, with my kind salutations, and very sincere respects! The militia in this section of the country are Organizing Rap- idly, and will soon be in a state of Readiness for action if neces- sary. I will be happy if you can see, old Mr. Barnhill, and Mr. Watkins and tell them to go on and improve my land: Tell them to do it with taste, and they shall have all chances. Salute Mr. Newlands 3 for me, and tell him that I have, much, in his care.
