Lz.wrence Stickney,2 Esquire, at his earliest convenience, to take charge of the Treasury Department of the Republic of Texas, as Acting Secretary of the Treasury, and until a permanent appointment shall be made, and to proceed to the organization and discharge of the duties thereof, con- formably to law.
