A PROCLAMATION FOR A CALL MEETING OF CONGRESS 1 Whereas, a serious impediment, growing out of the circum- stances of our unsettled boundary on the east, has recently presented itself to the execution of the land law passed by the congress of this republic at its last session; and whereas, it is a subject that demands the earliest consideration of that body: I do therefore, by these presents, require that the Senators and Representatives of this Republic, shall assemble at the city of Houston on the 25th day of September next; then and there to receive such communications as may be made to them; and to adopt such measures as they may, in their wisdom think best calculated to remove the difficulties referred to, and to promote the welfare of the country. In testimony whereof I have caused the seal of the Republic of Texas to be hereunto affixed, and signed the same with my hand. Done at the city of Houston the 10th day of August, A. Secy. of State will be so kind as to cause Two Proclamations to be issued for the apprehension of Richards and Humphrey's agreeably to the information of the Attorney General of this District.
