July 19th, 1851 Dear Col. Mrs. Baines 2 • is at Mr. Wm. Sears, and will go out this evening to Dr. Evans'. She can say that Virginia told her that she never did anything but what she chose to do; that she never cooked a meal of victuals, nor anything of the kind. She was very particular with her. Mr. Baines heard all the matters to which Mrs. Baines will testify. Thine Truly Sam Houston Col.
