Messrs. T. Toby & Brother Gentlemen, I enclose you letters addressed to Capt. Brown' and Capt Hurd. 3 You will please forward them to your Sub- Agent at New York unless you are aware that those Gentlemen have changed their position since our last advices. It is very desirable to have our little Naval force once more at home, and to confer with the officers in command prior to the adoption of new measures, or the formation of new plans. To the Honorable The Senate Gentlemen: The nomination of an Attorney General was in- advertently omitted in my Special Message to you of yesterday. James Collinsworth 2 Esq. was intended to be included in that communication, as nominated to that high Office; and you will be pleased to consider my remarks of that date, as equally applicable to him.
