I, Darwin M. Stapp, do solemnly swear that the foregoing descriptive roll of Capt. D. Sample's Co. of permanent volunteers was left with my Father by Captain D. Sample or John A. Wright, 1st Lieut. That the same has been in my possession since my father 's death, and that from all the circumstances con- nected with the same, I am fully satisfied, that it is either the original or duplicate of the original descriptive roll of said Company, and also that I am acquainted with the hand writing of D. Sample, and that I fully believe that the signature to the certificate on the back of the same was Capt. D. Sample on signing. D.M.
