No. 69 TREATY BETWEEN U.S. AND JOSE MARIA AND 'l'HE ANADARKO INDIANS [July 25, 1846] KNOW ALL MEN BY THESE PRESENTS, That Jose Maria a Chief of the Ano-dah-kos- [Anadarko] and the tribe to which he belongs are by Treaty, on terms of Peace and Friendship with the United States of America. Jose Maria has in person visited Washington City, the seat of Government of the United States and conducted himself according to the terms of the treaty, to which, he was a party. This paper is given in testimony of the Friend- ship existing between the two countries. Done at the City of Washington this twenty fifth day of July one thousand eight hundred and forty six.
