I do not wish these companies to exceed fifty privates and the usual number of Officers & Non comm'issioned Officers. They must all furnish themselves; be well mounted, armed etc, and must com- municate with those next them occasionally; and if necessary, at any time, they may be called together without delay, by the Field Officer comdg. them. They should be informed that although assigned to parlicu:ar stations, they are no less liable at any time to be called to any part of the country.
