In reply to your enquiries respecting any disturbances with the Indians, I have only to say that I have been informed by a Mr Humes, that a party of Indians are about Springfield, and trading for Whisky and other Merchez. I have sent an agent and intrepreter to order the Indians from that place, and put a stop to the traffic of White Men, that induce them to come in for that purpose. P. S.
