I do sincerely hope that your Excellency will pardon this intrusion and grant my request, (if you think my capacity suf- ficient) I understand that the Indians have become troublesome and are committing wholesale depredations along the whole line of our North Western frontier. Now Sir I can raise a Company on a very short notice and if you will forward me the Commission to do so it will be a favor highly prized by me and I will reciprocate as far as in me lies Accept if you please my assurances of high regard.
