No. 282 PETITION CONCERNING INDIAN DEPREDATIONS [undated] TO THE SENATE AND HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE STATE OF TEXAS We your Petitioners, beleiving that your Honorable bodies will adopt some measure for the better protection of the Frontier, do hereby recommend John R. Baylor as a suitable person to command a regiment of Rangers. knowing him to be a fine man, who has long lived upon the Frontier, and who is well versed in Indian warfare, And we beleive his appointment would give universal Satisfaction to the people of the entire frontier-
