No. 248 LETTER FROM I. B. SADLER TO 0. M. ROBERTS
Brownwood. Brown County February 3rd 1879.
Gov. 0. M. Roberts. I have just returned from Fort Griffin, and while there learned from Lieut. Arrington of the 'Frontier forces," that there was now on Texas soil over one thousand "Indians," pre- tending that their mission was "hunting." He was of opinion, from what information he gathered, that there was great dan- ger of an outbreak, in the Spring, on our frontier; and I believe myself that there is great danger, and that we should be pre- pared to meet any emergency that may arise. I hope you will give us ample "frontier protection," Our frontier interests are great and increasing daily. Rp. (signed) IRA B. SADLER
