No. 343 LETTER FROM S. W. KELLOGG TO THOMAS G. WESTERN Wheelock, Oct. 12, 1845 T. G. Western Esq Dear Sir Your letter by Mr Torrey enclosed to Mr Sloat is still in my office. It is with regret that I have to inform you of the death of Mr Sloat. He was not well when he left the trading house, and was only able to cross over to Springfield where he died, before medical aid could be obtained, of congestive fever.
