Sir.

I went to Washington in accordance with your order as qu'ick as my health would permit me to get there I saw the president and Secy of War who informed me that I would be transferd to Post No. 1 and the Honl Secy of War said he would send my instructions to Meltons Po so socn as you returned and the President got able to attend to business Accordingly I returned home and moved my family near that Post and have wated the arrival of the propper instruction which has failed to reach me--so I came over hear yesterday and find my shop still closed and no information for me hear you will therefore please address me as soon as possible at Meltons Po Yours with great respect N.T.BYARS [Endorsed] N.
