Indian Agent Sir As we are about to hold a talk with the Comanche Chief "Mopechucope" at Austin, and also with the Chief "Santa Anna" at San Antonio the presence of good Inter- preters is indispensable you will therefore proceed forthwith to the Post on the Brazos, procure the Govt. Interpreters Dela- ware Jim Shaw and Jack Harry, with these proceed to the Co- manche Village on the waters of Little River and having amica- bly arranged with Mopechucope. with him proceed to the City of Austin where I will await you in order to hold our "Talk" on the subject a recent depredation committed near that place--! trust you will permit no delay on your route. I shall expect to see you in Austin in 8 days from this date
