l\Iajor

Asa Brigham, Treasurer. Sir

Your protracted ill health preventing you from bestowing your personal attention to the duties of your office; and the various com- plaints of the manner in which those duties have been discharged by the gentleman to whom you have confided them, make it my painful hut imperious duty to appoint another Treasurer. You will therefore de- liver over the ofliee, and its appurtenances to ~Ir. J. P. Barhydt, who is ·authorised to take charge of the same and act as Treasurer until I ,;hall be able to make a permanent appointment.

Yours .
