Secretary of State, I am informed that the sum of Twenty Seven tho1J!Sand dollars ($27000.00) will be required immediately to enable the Government to carry out its views 1elative to the Cherokee Indians- I therefore submit to your Excellency the accompanying .drafts on the Merchants Bank at New Orleans for that amount.
