From the above quotation, are respectfully submitted the following opinions respecting some of the measures which have been carried out, since the organization of our Government.- and, FIRST,- To sub- serve the purposes of party speculation, the Island of Galveston . was basely sacrificed. and, SECONDLY, The seat of Government was tempo- rarily located at Houst[on to] promote individual speculation: When, if Public Good had been the paramount consideration, with the "pow- ers that were," a judiciary location, by Government, for 3 or 4 years, might have produced a revenue of 500.000 dollars.
