Head Quarters Filissolas army West of noesses June 2nd

Dear sir

after oure respects to you We have met 36 of Major Millers men hear and they have bin marched verry hard so much that they cant get to camp without some horses for they feet is verry sor we have give them permision to stay at St Pattretia and till you send for them for they are Eight or ten that cant walk a step this mornig they will stay till you send for them for they have not a gun amongst them and the commanshas is verry thick along hear and will attack this little town before long I think there is too of Mexican citizens came in hear this morning and stated that they was at there Ranch and some of our scouts came up with and took them prisoner with some others and robed of there guns and there horses and started them for Victory and brok of and have cause hear for to complain of there hard treatment it makes verry much against our intrust in settling of our bizness. I think that you had better isue a proclamation for them to stay at home and not run of and all that has cattle that donts belong to them for to return and give up the cattle and they shal be respected both person & property and I think that a grate many of them will return the road is full of cattle and familys moveing off and have grate of different brands and I think that all of the old settlers will come back and stay if they will not be hurt but the rascooly ones have pursuaded them that they wood all be killed and they think that you are after them as hard as you can march and your proclamation will convince them.
