ARMY ORDER As a token_ ~f respect as well lo the memory of the men, who fell here a s~cnf1ce to the treachery _of the had faith of our Enemy, as a duly wl11ch we owe to the relations of the unfortunate deceased it is ordered that the skeletons and bones of our murdered breth;en be collected in one place in front of the fort, and buried with all the honors of War.-

Enclosed you will receive a letter of introduction for me to you given by Mr. Lewis at Louisville & which I had truly hoped lo have had the pleasure of haveing present lo you personaly but owing to circumstances I find I am denied that pleasure.- I have left my home, a fine practice and every enjoyment naturally attendent on easy circumstances to come to this Country-I wish lo become a citizen & to make it my future home & residence of my family & many friends- Haveing fallen with General Greene I have concluded to go with him on his expedition & nol wishing a .Military command & finding it necessary lo have some [iUegiblc J, I have requested any in the gift.
