I annex a Copy of an order received, with my endorsement upon the same, and also a memorandum of several others handed me since my arroval, all of which are of an informal character, part of them know by the agents to be correct. I have approvd payable when in funds. My object in calling your attention to them is to have you advise the agency here, whether such Drafts are to be paid and what officers are authorised to draw, to what extent &c. and whether you approve the payment of these named. Your orders in regard lo such payments are of the greatest importance to the agency. I have the Honour to be Your Respectfully Rohert Triplett By Samuel Ellis Secy to Genl Agent Designed for the Secy of the Treasury and properly belongs Lo his Department and not to the Executive $330. · Galveston Bay April 14th 1836 Three days sight pay to the Order of R. Grimes, three Hundred Dollars, value Received and charge the same to the Republic of Texas Signed A Huston Qr M. General R. T. Army To Col Robert Triplett New Orlearns [VERSO:] This Order wiJI be good when audited & passed by the Secretary of the Treasury, and wilJ be paid out of any funds belonging to the Government of Texas in the hands of the Agency, not otherwise appropriated.
