President Burnet Dear Sir

Col. Triplett has arrived but in consequence of some objection being made to the form of the Land Script to be issued to the takers of the Loan, has not yet been able to raise any money lo relieve our wants, or yours; he has however appropriated one thousand Dollars to the purchase of part of yours and Mr. Hardiman's orders. I shall endeavor to send as many of the articles as I can, by the next vessel, which will probably sail tomorrow. I hope the Government will be liberal as possible in this loan business, as money must be had or you must suffer, I have sent you aJl the city papers of late date which contain anything of interest and shall subscribe for those you wish. Genl. Houston is getting well fast and will leave here in about a week for Tennessee In haste, I have the Honor to be
