Apr 21 1836 to June 3 1836 - PTR, Vol. 6

Commissioners, which vessel we shall dispatch in a f cw days for Galveston, with such other articles as can be obtained. Mr. Triplett has continued and confirmed this Agency, and is w;ing much exertion to establish a uniformity of business and action through the several Agencies. He appears lo be satisfied wilh lhe manner in which our business has been conducted, and will probably arrange the olher Agencies on lhe same plan. We are now making out our accoun Ls and they are nearly ready to forward, but they being very voluminous, & having a great number of vouchers it requires much lime lo im;ure their correctness, we think we shall be able lo forward tham by lhe next correctness, we think we shall be able lo forward them by the next vessel. Mr. Triplett has not yet been able to make arrangements lo Lake up the protested paper. We trust he may be able lo put us in funds soon. In the present stale of the public credit we need not urge upon your Excellency the necessity of using every expedient that can safely be used to raise money lo meel the pressing demands upon us, with the Government paper under protest we are perfectly shackled, we can buy nothing, can forward no troops, and are daily suffering in our private credit. We have been expecting aid from the Commissioners, but have as yet received none, we have however reason lo believe we may recieve a small sum soon. Twenty Thousand Dollars will not pay our arrearages. I have the honour to be Yours Respectfully

Wm Bryan Agent for Texas
