In respect lo the Volunteers recently arrived al the Island, it is the wish of the government lhal they Larry there as Short a Lime as possible. If any one of the Vessels, in which they came could conveniently proceed direct lo Coxe's Point in Matagorda bay and land the Volunteers and Such provisions as can be senl.-it would meet the wishes of the government. From Coxc's Point the Volunteers could in a few days join the army, which is of course their ultimate destination. If you can effect an arrangement of this kind it would be very agreeable. Your obt.
