Both contracting parties also agreed that some commissioners might be named on the part of General Rusk, who should march, either with or separately from the Mexican army, with the necessary information, in order that they might make proper remonstrances, conformably lo what is expressed in the said treaties, with the understanding that everything belonging to them, that exists in the army of operations, shall be delivered to them. And, for the evidence and compliance by both parties, the two belligerent parties agreed to extend in duplicate the present document with the commissioners

-Ejercito de operaciones. - Sirvase V. S. l\'landar suspender toda clase de remision de viveres para el ejercilo u otro punto de Tejas, por haber dicho ejercito emprendido su regreso acis ese puerto, a virtud de un tratado estipulado enlTe el gobierno de Tejas y el general presidente de la republica; y dar sus ordenes para que los que hubiere ya embarcados o salido a la mar, regresen y desembarquen; siendo de una absoluta necesidad para la subsistencia del mencionado ejercito, que los dichos viveres le sean remitidos por tierra al punto de Lipantitlan, para lo que suplico a V. S. haga uso de aquella eficacia y actividad que le es tan natural y de que tantas y tan repetidos pruebas tiene dadas en obsequio de) servicio nacional. - Tengo el honor con este motivo de reilerar a V.
